Edge To Edge
Edge to edge is a single design stitched from one edge of the quilt to the other. It is done "free-hand" without any patterns drawn on the quilt top. They can look like puzzle pieces or meandering loops and may include flowers, leaves, hearts, stars or other designs. There is no special quilting on sash and borders.

These designs are stitched over the whole quilt and can be very simple or very detailed. The patterns are designed by artists and printed on a 12' roll of paper. As I "trace over" the designs using a laser beam to guide me, the design is sewn onto the quilt. Designs include feathers, flowers, Asian motifs, geometric, leaves, holiday themes and others.

Custom
Custom quilting includes separate designs within the blocks, background and borders. This could include feathers, flowered blocks, and specialty borders. This is the most labor-intensive form of quilting (other than Heirloom quilting). It involves designing the elements, then marking the quilt, and stitching each element one at a time.
